After nearly 25 years in full-time teaching (as head of A level maths for a number of years and then for 15 years as an assistant head in charge of producing the school timetable for 1500 students), I now tutor full-time, allowing me to dedicate my expertise to personalised, one-to-one support.

Hi! I'm Ivan
As an online tutor, I cover all key stages, from 11+ preparation to GCSE maths and A-Level maths, with tailored approaches for each student’s needs. I specialise in building confidence as well as skills, because success in maths begins with the right mindset.
My background is anything but ordinary: before teaching, I served 9 years in the Coldstream Guards (yes, I lived next to Buckingham Palace!). This military discipline translates into my teaching - structured, focused and results-driven.
When I’m not teaching, you’ll find me at the gym (a lifelong fitness enthusiast) or walking my dog Minty across the beautiful South Downs.

One-to-One online tutoring
My goal is to provide classes around my students’ schedules, at a time that really works for the student. I offer evening, weekend and holiday lesson options. I am dedicated to helping my students get the grades they need and improve their ability.
Before school morning sessions
I run early morning, before school, online sessions. It’s great to study when the mind is alert, making this one of the best times to understand the subject. It’s also a perfect opportunity to get support for same-day maths classes.
Daytime sessions
For college students seeking personalised support in their education, my daytime one-to-one tutoring offers a focused and flexible learning environment. Whether you need to learn at A-Level, prepare for university exams, or build confidence in mathematics, I provide tailored guidance during free periods or independent study time.
Holiday maths tuition
I provide specialised summer holiday online tuition which is particularly effective for those about to begin A’ level maths in the coming year.
